Serengeti Game Drives
Private 4x4, professional guide, and unhurried mornings where the plains do the talking.

Grown. Curated. Quiet where it counts.
Tanzania & Zanzibar · June 19–28, 2028
Ten days of game-drive mornings, spa afternoons, and ocean-blue nothing-to-do days. Adults only — designed for women and couples who travel slow, eat well, and sleep deep.
The invitation
African sunrise pouring across your veranda. Coffee is already poured. The Serengeti stretched out in front of you. No alarms. No agenda you didn't agree to.
Just long, quiet exhales and the kind of beauty that makes time slow all the way down.

Part I · Days 1–5
From the silent glide of an optional sunrise balloon safari to wild encounters in Ngorongoro Crater, the plains speak a language of ancient rhythm. Game-drive mornings, veranda afternoons, and dinners under a sky full of stars.
Part II · Days 6–10
The scent of cloves, the salt-air hum of Stone Town, and turquoise water meeting white sand. A sensory immersion into the colors of the Spice Island — then nothing on the agenda but the beach.
“Join the Mamas of Zanzibar for a hands-on cooking class, blending local ingredients with the island’s Swahili traditions.”

Day 4 · Heritage & connection

Day 9 · Cook, share, connect

The Plantation Lodge · Nights 4–5

A spice farm tour, a Tanzanian cooking class, and a bush lunch in the middle of nowhere.
Carved doors, coral stone alleyways, and the salt-air hum of the old spice port.
Beachfront days with nothing on the agenda but water, shade, and spa afternoons.
The route
A bush flight into the Serengeti, the northern circuit overland through Olduvai, Karatu, Ngorongoro and Lake Eyasi, then a flight to four nights on Zanzibar. Tap any stop in the list to jump to that day.

Visa & entry
Written for US passport holders flying into Kilimanjaro. If you hold another passport, tell us and we'll confirm your requirements — rules differ by nationality and can change before 2028.
US passport with at least six months' validity beyond your return — valid through Dec 28, 2028 or later — and a minimum of two blank facing pages for stamps. Damaged or nearly-full passports are refused at the border, so renew by early 2028 if yours is close.
US citizens need an ordinary tourist visa, $100 USD, single entry, valid 90 days. Apply online at visa.immigration.go.tz or buy it on arrival at Kilimanjaro. Zanzibar is part of Tanzania — the same visa covers both, no second visa needed.
Not required if you fly to Tanzania directly from the US or Europe. It is required if you transit or stop in a yellow-fever country (including Kenya, Ethiopia and Rwanda) — carry the original yellow card, not a photocopy.
Immigration can ask for proof of onward travel and where you're staying. Keep your return e-ticket and the first-night lodge confirmation on your phone plus one printed copy.
Not checked at the border but required for this trip: comprehensive medical coverage with emergency evacuation from remote parks. We recommend Global Rescue — buy your plan through our partner link below and send us the policy number once purchased.
Get a Global Rescue plan ↗Zanzibar's mandatory inbound travel insurance is included in your trip price — nothing to buy. The $5 infrastructure fee is paid online before you fly — keep the QR confirmation.
By early 2028
Confirm expiry is after Dec 28, 2028 and you have two blank pages. Renewals can take 8–11 weeks in peak season.
8 weeks out
Submit the online application at visa.immigration.go.tz with a passport scan, a passport photo and your flight details. Approval typically takes 5–10 business days; print the approval letter.
6 weeks out
Malaria prophylaxis, routine boosters, and a yellow fever shot only if your routing requires it. Ask for the certificate at the visit.
Day of travel
Passport, e-visa approval, $100 cash backup, yellow fever card if applicable, insurance details, and your printed itinerary in your carry-on.
Before you go
Everything practical in one place — health, weather, connectivity, and dress. Full details are in your downloadable itinerary.
No vaccines are legally required for US travelers arriving directly, but yellow fever proof is required if you transit an at-risk country — carry your certificate. CDC recommends being current on routine shots plus hepatitis A and typhoid. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for the mainland and Zanzibar: see a travel clinic 6–8 weeks before departure.
Safari mornings are crisp — 55–60°F on the crater rim and in the Serengeti at dawn, warming to 75–80°F by midday. Zanzibar runs humid and 82–88°F. Late June is peak dry season: clear skies, dust on the plains, excellent game viewing and cool crater mornings.
Camps and the resort have Wi-Fi, but it is slow and patchy in the parks. Easiest option is an eSIM (Airalo, Holafly or your carrier's Tanzania pass) activated on landing. For a local SIM, Vodacom or Airtel at Kilimanjaro airport costs a few dollars for 10–20GB — bring your passport for registration.
Safari days: neutral, breathable layers — khaki, olive, stone; a fleece and scarf for open-vehicle mornings. Camouflage print is illegal for civilians in Tanzania, so leave it home. Stone Town and villages: shoulders and knees covered. Resort evenings are relaxed resort-elegant — one nice outfit for the farewell dinner is plenty.
Bring clean USD bills dated 2009 or newer for visas, tips, and markets; cards work at lodges but rarely in Stone Town shops. Visa on arrival is $100 for US passports. Budget roughly $15–25 per day for your guide and $5–10 a day for camp staff.
Tanzania uses UK-style Type G plugs at 230V — bring a Type G adapter and a power bank, as tented camps run on generators or solar with limited charging hours. Drink bottled water only (provided throughout your safari) and skip ice outside the lodges.
Pack light and neutral. Bush flights limit checked bags to roughly 33 lb in a soft duffel, and laundry is available at most stays.
